Israeli President Isaac Herzog has claimed that his nation had 'no other choice' but to attack Iran.
Herzog says that Iran were proceeding 'dramatically' towards creating a nuclear bomb and that they were 'rushing' to the bomb 'under disguise'.
Tehran have long denied that their nuclear program is an attempt to create a nuclear bomb.
When asked why Israel attacked Iran last week, Herzog replied, via Sky News: "When you take such decisions of historic magnitude and proportions, you have to analyse all facets and all facts.
"The truth of the matter is there was no other choice."
He added: "I've always been very crystal clear with regards to a nuclear capability of our enemies - it has to be removed at once.
"We have to remove the Iranian nuclear program because we see the negotiating process as being futile because they are lying whilst talking to us.
"They are lying whilst talking to the United States and other allies."
When asked if he believed the attack on Iran could provoke a mass casualty event in Israel, Herzog said that they are 'very much aware of the risks'.
