People have also reported being unable to appeal Instagram's decision, resulting in their accounts being logged out and their details - include email and password - not found.
According to their policy, Instagram may choose to disable certain accounts which "violate community guidelines."
Content that can fall under this includes illegal, bullying, hate speech or abuse, spam, or violating intellectual property.
The hashtag #InstagramDown is trending on Twitter, as hundreds are reporting similar issues of being unable to login to their profiles.
