Another bomb is said to have hit an oil terminal in the southwest city of Vasylkiv, said the town's mayor Natalia Balasinovich. "The enemy wants to destroy everything," she said. Russian-backed separatists in Luhansk said a Ukrainian missile had blown up an oil terminal in the town of Rovenky, reports the Evening Standard.
As chaos and violence sweep Ukraine, you might assume that the ruling government would have fled to neighbouring countries. But that's far from the case.
Upon being asked by the US if he wanted to evacuate Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy flat out refused, citing that he needed "ammunition, not a ride."
"Good morning everybody. Do not believe fake news. I am here," said Zelensky in his latest video posted to Twitter, released early Saturday.
"We will not lay down our weapons. We will defend our country. Our weapons are our strength. This is our land. Our country. Our children. We will protect all of them."
In the video, Zelenskyy can be seen standing in front of the 'Chimeras house', opposite the presidential palace. Many have commended the President's resistance and continued fight for his people.
