Grand Theft Auto 6: Watch the first trailer for the highly anticipated Rockstar game

The first trailer for one of the most eagerly anticipated games of all time has been revealed.

It has been over 10 years since the last game - Grand Theft Auto 5 - in the hugely popular video game series was released.

GTA 5 made over one billion dollars in sales in just three days. It has since become the second-best-selling video game of all time with 185 million copies sold. Only Minecraft has sold more copies.

Since 2013, fans have been eagerly awaiting the next edition in the popular series - which started back in 1997 with Grand Theft Auto on the PlayStation 1.

GTA 6 has reportedly been in development for years.

To mark Rockstar's 25th anniversary, the company announced that the first trailer for GTA 6 will be released on Tuesday afternoon Irish and UK time.

'We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto," Sam Houser, Rockstar's president said in a statement.

"We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you."
