Glastonbury Festival has said that it is "appalled" by the chants from Bob Vylan during their set yesterday.
The band's frontman led pro-Palestinian and anti-Israeli chants during the set, including "Free, free Palestine", as well as "Death, death to the IDF".
A BBC spokesperson has said that some of the comments made during their set were "deeply offensive" and that during their set it had issued a warning on its livestream about "very strong and discriminatory language".
Bob Vylan's performance was aired live on the iPlayer; however, it was not made available to watch on demand afterwards.
The Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) also released a statement, saying: "Our national broadcaster must apologise for its dissemination of this extremist vitriol, and those responsible must be removed from their positions."
During the set the band's frontman also said: “We are seeing some f****d up things happening in the world; we are seeing the UK and the US be complicit in war crimes, in genocide happening over there to the Palestinian people.
“Look, I know we are on the BBC and we aren’t going to say anything crazy, we can leave that for them lads [Kneecap, who were playing 30 minutes later].
"But unfortunately, we have seen a strange reaction to people that come out and voice support for Palestine, even though anybody wth any kind of moral compass can surely tell that what is happening over there in Gaza is a tragedy.”
Ahead of one of their songs, the frontman said: "We want to dedicate it to every single band that is using their platform to speak up for the Palestinian people and speak against the crimes that Israel, the UK, the US, and much of the Western world are complicit in. So this is for all of you: The Murder Capital, Kneecap, Amyl, and The Sniffers.
“We must pray, hope and wish to see a day where the Palestinian people are liberated and free from the tyranny of the Israeli government. Free Palestine!”
