Gary Neville signs deal to support to homeless people living in his Manchester hotel project

Gary Neville has signed off on a deal to offer support to homeless people living in his building in Manchester.

Neville plans to refurbish the old Stock Exchange building and turn it into a luxury building after purchasing it with former Manchester United team mate Ryan Giggs. The pair have been praised for allowing homeless people to occupy the building over the winter as well as building new showers and providing meals in order to make the space more liveable. Now the Manchester Evening News report that an agreement has been reached with local council and social housing bosses to provide mental health support to those living in the building as well as supplying addiction counselling where necessary. Riverside Care and Support will send social workers to the building on a regular basis and will help those living in the building to find temporary accommodation and offer assistance in accessing benefits. Neville believes that situation at the Stock Exchange building is a sign of a further homeless problem within Manchester, saying: "Nobody should be sleeping on the street. "We will work with the council and Riverside offering support and services with the ultimate goal of providing a roof over the heads of the people in the Stock Exchange."
