Despite seeing a sales growth of nearly 8 per cent in the year leading up to July, the company has either sold or given up the lease on 30 pubs this year, according to its latest trading update.

This is in addition to the closure of 41 locations last year. Of the 17 up for sale, 14 are already under offer.

However, it’s not all doom and gloom, the chain is set to open several new pubs in certain locations across the UK.

A new £3.5 million pub is set to open its doors on September 24, 2024, in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

They also recently opened "The Lion and The Unicorn" at Waterloo station, which pubgoers have praised as a "hidden gem" due to its more affordable prices compared to nearby competitors like Brewdog.

In March of this year, they also opened their first ever pub at a holiday park, Haven’s Primrose Valley in Filey, North Yorkshire.

The chain says it is continuously evaluating the status of the pubs it has put up for sale and therefore as part of this ongoing process, some branches may be removed from the market altogether.

This means that although they are currently earmarked for closure, the company may decide to keep them open indefinitely.
