First Dates star Merlin Griffiths has confirmed that he has been given the all-clear from cancer.
Griffiths was diagnosed with bowel cancer in September 2021 and has been sharing his progress with his fans across social media.
The 48-year-old has been open, honest and on Wednesday, revealed that the treatment had been a success and that he was now "free" from cancer.
Sharing a picture of him in his hospital gown and his test results, Griffiths spoke of how he had to prepare for the difficult procedure and that his next check up will take place in three years' time followed by another in 2027.
"Scroll across... 1-year colonoscopy check up for #bowelcancer; Prep was soo difficult this time," he wrote on Instagram.
"Soiled the bed several times overnight, resorted to adult nappies, got about 2 hours kip. Felt like hell.
"First one with my newly connected arse too (sans rectum), so I was a little nervous. But along with my last blood tests (clear), at one year examination, we're clear! Phew.
"Next one at 3 years (2025). Last one at 5 years (2027).#bowelcancerawarenessmonth.
"Love to all you fellow bowel cancer peeps, keep on keeping on."
His latest update comes after the First Dates barman admitted that he still has "troublesome" days after having his stoma removed as part of the treatment.
