Jennifer Abbot (69) was found stabbed to death in her home in Camden, London, on Friday evening (13 June).
When the emergency services arrived at the scene they reportedly found her body wrapped up in a blanket with tape over her mouth, neighbours told the DailyMail.
Concerned family and friends called the emergency services after they hadn't seen or heard of Jennifer in four days.
This discovery of her body immediately sparked a huge manhunt from detectives for the murderer. One reported theory is that the director was killed for her diamond Rolex which was missing from her home on Mornington Place in Camden.
Ms Abbot had worked in the film industry and won an award at the Swansea Bay Film Festival for her documentary called 'Gods of War'.
She was known as a creative and a popular member of her community.
She was frequently seen walking her corgi around her neighbourhood in the local Camden area, so her neighbours began to worry when she hadn't been spotted walking her dog since Tuesday (June 10).
Emergency services were called at 6 pm on Friday to reports of an unresponsive woman. The 69-year-old director was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem on Sunday, June 15 stated that her cause of death was sharp force trauma.
The Metropolitan Police are urging any witnesses to step forward and have appealed for any information about a gold Rolex watch with a diamond-encrusted face believed to be missing from the London home.
There is an ongoing investigation in place, and detectives are keeping an open mind about all possible motives.
No arrests have been made yet in this case. Police urge anyone with information to call 101 or message @MetCC on X, giving the reference 6470/13JUN.
