Elliot Page praised for first shirtless pic since coming out as trans

Elliot Page has been praised by fans and celebrities alike after posting his first topless picture on social media since announcing that he was transgender. At the end of last year, the actor, best known for his roles in Juno and Inception, revealed to his millions of followers that he was transgender and that his pronouns were 'he/they.' At the time he wrote: "I can’t begin to express how remarkable it feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my authentic self. I’ve been endlessly inspired by so many in the trans community." Since then Page has been vocal in his discussion of transgender issues. Now, Page has posted his first topless photo since undergoing top surgery, a procedure that has previously said "completely transformed" his life. Page has been a strong advocate of trans rights and shown continuous support for the LGBTQ+ community coming out as trans. Earlier this year, he spoke in an interview about his experience growing up as a child and knowing that he was not happy within himself. He told Vanity Fair: "When I was a little kid, absolutely, 100%, I was a boy. I knew I was a boy when I was a toddler. I was writing fake love letters and signing them 'Jason.' Every little aspect of my life, that is who I was, who I am, and who I knew myself to be. "I just couldn’t understand when I’d be told, 'No, you’re not. No, you can’t be that when you’re older.' You feel it. Now I’m finally getting myself back to feeling like who I am, and it’s so beautiful and extraordinary, and there’s a grief to it in a way."
