Ellen DeGeneres seems to have changed her mind on her decision which was to not live in the US anymore, as long as Donald Trump is president.
The former television host and comedian previously said that she moved to the UK after Trump’s return to The White House, adding that ‘everything is better here’.
She and her wife, Portia de Rossi, moved to the Cotswolds in Britain where they said they would live on a part-time basis for a much ‘simpler’ life.
On social media, she wrote that "we're just not used to seeing this kind of beauty. The villages and the towns and the architecture - everything you see is charming and it's just a simpler way of life.”
"It's clean. Everything here is just better - the way animals are treated, people are polite. I just love it here. We love it here. Portia flew her horses here, and I have chickens, and we had sheep for about two weeks."
The couple, Ellen, 67 and Portia, 52, married in 2008 and initially made their home at Kitesbridge Farm in Swinbrook, Oxfordshire.
However, they placed the 43-acre estate on the market for £22.5 million in July and then they moved on to a hilltop mansion, where their horses would have a lot of space.
But according to the Daily Mail, a year later the couple is spending more time in the US, as they’re not fans of the winter in Britain and they’re missing their friends back in California.
As per the Daily Mail source, “Ellen was adamant that she and Portia were going to stay in the UK while Trump was in the White House, but evidently she's changed her mind somewhat”.
"She's been telling friends they are coming home soon because they miss them and can't take the winters over there, and Portia wants to act again. They will be here for the holidays and longer by the sound of it.”
Ellen quit The Ellen DeGeneres Show amid allegations that the workplace was ‘toxic’ and that it included racism and intimidation.
In an appearance at the Everyman theatre in Cheltenham, she said that she and her wife chose to stay in the UK after Trump got elected for a second time.
She revealed that the pair had arrived in the UK a day before the election last November and then decided that they’re staying in the UK after Trump won.
