The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) wants dog owners to keep their pets indoors until 6pm tomorrow (June 13).
Between 9pm today (June 12) and 8am on Sunday, June 15, temperatures are set to soar across Britain once again after the last few weeks of cloudy drabness and downpours.
2025's first yellow heat health warning was issued by the UKHSA recently, with a spokesperson sharing: "If you are going to do a physical activity (for example, exercising or walking the dog), plan to do these during times of the day when it is cooler, such as the morning or evening."
This applies specifically to London, the East of England, the South East, and the East Midlands.
According to the Met Office, temperatures could surge towards 30°C tomorrow, with the hottest parts of the day usually staged between 12pm and 6pm - hence the dog warning.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) shared: "Dogs should have regular exercise and involving them in your outings and family fun is expected, but if the weather is warm, it can be too much for our dogs.
"As dogs rely on their respiratory system to keep cool, unfit and overweight dogs and those with heart or respiratory disease are more likely to heat up faster and take longer to cool down."
Just last month, a brown spaniel named Scout made a wild discovery whilst enjoying his walk in Cardiff.
Sniffing around the Welsh capital, Scout crossed paths with a satchel bag in some undergrowth containing 97g of weed and £2,200 in cash.
This happy lad was searching the area alongside South Wales Police following reports of drugs in the area.
