However Belle's unique looks have not left her any less loved. In 2017, Lieschen O'Connor, 38, adopted Belle from Lawrence Humane Society - an organisation which provides care for homeless and abused animals.
Thankfully, Belle's condition doesn't cause her any pain but Lieschen regularly needs to apply eye drops as they often get a little dry.
If this iconic doggo can teach us one thing, it's to own your individual qualities because it is Belle's unique look that has gained her 160,000 followers on TikTok, as well as thousands of comments.
"Her expressions make my heart swell", one fan commented. "She is the cutest dog on TikTok I love her so much," another added.

Lieschen, a project manager in higher education from Kansas, said Belle is not only gentle with other animals but great with kids.
"Belle is extremely sweet and a little goofy," she said, "If dogs could laugh, Belle would definitely laugh a lot!
"If people meet her in person, they usually comment that she is beautiful and has an expressive face. People online tend to either think Belle is the cutest pup ever," she added.
