Boots Sildenafil can be bought in store at the pharmacy counter
With Men's Health Week currently in full swing, high street chain store Boots has launched its own brand of Viagra - and it costs as little as £15.
Named Boots Sildenafil, this chain-own brand will be available in over 1,400 stores across the UK and can be purchased direct from the pharmacy counter without a prescription. What's more, this new line of erectile dysfunction medicine is cheaper than its leading name rival, costing £5 less for a pack of four pills and £8 less for a pack of eight.
Still, anyone that's hoping to take Boots up on this solid new offer is recommended to have a consultation with the pharmacist beforehand in order to make sure it's the right course of action for them.
However with Boots Sildenafil containing the same active ingredients as their top name competitor, this new pharmacy medicine could make an all too common problem for men over 40 much easier to discreetly fix.
“Erectile dysfunction is a common condition that affects most men at some point in their lives, and is generally nothing to be worried or embarrassed about," explained Boots Chief Pharmacist Marc Donovan OBE in a recent statement.
"There are some immediate steps that you can take to help with erectile dysfunction, such as making sure you are at a healthy weight by eating a balanced diet and regular exercise, trying to reduce stress and anxiety, reducing alcohol intake, getting enough sleep and stopping smoking."
Boots Sildenafil is currently priced at £14.99 for a pack of four pills and £26.99 for a pack of eight and to celebrate Men's Health Week - which takes place annually between June 13 and 19 - the store has also launched their 'Boots Online Doctor’ service.
This online consultation service allows customers can get quick, discreet and highly confidential advice on a range of conditions including hair loss, premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction.
“It is important to speak to a healthcare professional if you continue having ongoing problems in getting an erection, especially if you are under 40. Erectile dysfunction can impact a person’s wellbeing, confidence and relationships and in some cases, it may be a symptom of an underlying medical condition," continued Donovan.
