Elon Musk has a pretty colourful love life, but new pictures of him embracing several different partners have really set the internet alight.
The billionaire dad-of-eight has built a career at the forefront of modern technology - at Telsa, SpaceX and Twitter - so it is somewhat fitting that he's now been pictured cosying up to robots.
Following the release of footage showing Tesla’s humanoid robots 'Optimus' taking its first steps and picking up things earlier this month, pictures posted by Twitter user, Daniel Marven, of Musk kissing several different female robots went viral.
Marven claimed Musk is designing a robot "with the personality and the characteristics of the female that he dreams of".
He wrote on Twitter: "Elon Musk announces the future wife who is she? It is the first robot that has been manufactured specifically designed with artificial intelligence with the personality and the characteristics of the female that he dreams of… which is not found in any normal person because of course, there is no normal person that has all the required specifications."
The post included four AI-generated images of Musk kissing three different "wife" robots and dancing with one other. Unlike the Tesla robots, the AI-generated ones had distinctive human-like facial features.
Responding to the pics, one Twitter user referenced the classic Will Smith sci-film about a rogue humanoid robot: "I, Robot is about to be reality."
Another suggested Musk "Is taking it too far now… Where’s the robot husband?”
While a third wrote: "This just reminds me of the movie #MATRIX.”
The pictures contained a few tell-tale signs that they weren't real. Indy100 noted the hand on one of the robots had too many fingers, and the others were distorted.
But Marven's tweet made clear that the images were made using Artificial Intelligence: "The post is to clarify the dangers of AI (artificial intelligence) in the coming period, especially after Tesla Company released the first integrated robot 'Optimus'.
"Guys this guy is not a human this is out of the world."
Last week, Tesla unveiled footage of its Optimus robots literally taking a giant leap for robotkind as they have come a long way since the prototype was unveiled at the Tesla AI day last year. The clip was released by Musk at Tesla’s shareholders meeting on Wednesday (May 17), and showed not one but five Optimus robots walking to human domination. Musk likes to refer to Telsa's robots as our "companions".
Indy100 noted that some of the images appear to have been created by the same user who was behind the viral image of Pope Francis
