Barry Manilow has come out as gay at the age of 73

Legendary singer Barry Manilow - the man behind hits such as 'Copacabana' and 'Mandy' - has come out as gay at the age of 73. Manilow has been in a relationship for 39 years with his manager Garry Kief. They met back in 1978. The performer says that he always felt he would be upsetting his fans by revealing his sexuality, but says that the reaction has been universally positive. "I knew that this was it.  I was one of the lucky ones.  I was pretty lonely before that," he said of his relationship with Kief.
