Last week Jones said: 'I was taken down not because we lied but because we tell the truth and because we were popular' (Credit: Drew Angerer)[/caption]
Jones had been directing his fans toward the InfoWars website and app to listen to his show, which he used to pedal bizarre propaganda, before it was removed by Apple for violating rules on "objectionable content."
The company said Jones broke guidelines relating to "defamatory, discriminatory, or mean-spirited content, including references or commentary about religion, race, sexual orientation, gender, national/ethnic origin, or other targeted groups, particularly if the app is likely to humiliate, intimidate, or place a targeted individual or group in harm’s way."
On the show the right wing broadcaster had argued that the Sandy Hook massacre was a hoax - the most offensive of a string of baseless theories.
Apple's ban does not affect users who had already downloaded the InfoWars app.
After Twitter removed Jones from its platform on Thursday he said in a video: "I was taken down not because we lied but because we tell the truth and because we were popular."Buffy and Ted Lasso star Anthony Head dies at 72
