Andrew Tate served legal papers after four UK women claim they were victims of sex assault and rape

Court papers were handed to Tate in person at his compound in Bucharest

Four women are due to launch legal proceedings in Britain against the former kickboxer over alleged attacks between 2013 and 2016, when he was still living in the UK.

Lawyers representing the alleged victims handed court papers to Tate in person on Wednesday at his compound in Bucharest, Romania, where he is currently under house arrest over human trafficking claims.

The legal documents detail the allegations made by the four women, who are aged in their 20s and 30s, including claims of violent rapes, serious physical assaults plus controlling and coercive behaviour.

The claimants’ legal team said the 36-year-old has been told in the letter he faces legal proceedings at the High Court in London in the coming weeks, depending on his response to this document.

McCue Jury & Partners, the firm acting for the claimants, is crowdfunding to bring the case to a civil court "in the hope it will prompt a criminal investigation in the UK".

They hope to raise £50,000 and are currently nearly halfway to their goal.

A fourth woman recently joined the legal action, after three alleged victims began crowdfunding in April.

Two of these women are said to have worked at Tate's webcam business, while the third was in a personal relationship with him, their lawyers said.

One of the women, who is part of the proceedings, said today: "After such a long fight for justice, it feels good to finally be taking a positive step forward.

"While this experience has been traumatic for us, we have taken strength in the fact we have decided to take a stand and are not alone.

"We hope that bringing this claim will encourage other people to speak out against their abusers, no matter how powerful they are."

Before Tate shot to fame with his controversial TikTok and YouTube videos glorifying misogyny, he was reported to police in the UK over allegations of abuse.

He was arrested by Hertfordshire Constabulary in 2015 on suspicion of rape and assault while running a webcam business in Luton, but was released without charge four years later.

Many have criticised his comments about women and raised concerns his videos are warping the attitudes of his huge social media following of mainly young men.

Matthew Jury, managing partner of McCue Jury & Partners who hand delivered the documents, described their clients saying: "You are incredibly brave for standing up against someone with such a large following.

"I hope that you are able to get the justice you deserve and legal proceedings against him in their country will help shatter the illusion that so many young men are under."

Along with his brother Tristan and two associates, Andrew Tate has been under house arrest in the Romanian capital since April.

They were arrested in December by anti-gang cops and are being investigated over allegations of rape, people-trafficking and setting up an organised crime group.

Tate denies all the allegations, claiming the women are making these complaints because they hold a grudge against him.
