The days of uncomfortable long-haul flights could be over for those lucky enough to fly in the first-class cabins of this European airline.
Lufthansa is set to introduce its new premium suites after splashing out an eye-watering €2.5 billion (£2.23 billion) on refurbishing its fleet by 2025.
The German airline, which uses Frankfurt and Munich as its main hubs, connects Europe with the rest of the world with daily flights to far-flung destinations across the US, South America, Asia and Africa.
Those travelling in first class will be able to kick back and relax in style, with new cabins that are comparable to flying in a private jet.
Not only do they feature metre-wide seats, but the suite also contains its own wardrobe, dining table and heating system as well as ceiling-high walls, sliding wooden doors, and a whole double bed.
It's a flying hotel room experience, really, with dedicated room service throughout the flight!
These in ‘suite plus’ first-class customers will get to enjoy choosing their meals from special gourmet menus.
Lufthansa is embarking on a project called ‘Allegris’, with a view to split up all the seating into seven classes on long-haul routes.
"Every guest has their own understanding of premium, which is why we focus on maximum individuality and exclusivity," said Jens Ritter, CEO Lufthansa Airlines at the launch of the ‘First Class Suite Plus’ in Berlin.
"The First Class Suite Plus conveys the feeling of privacy and individuality similar to a hotel room – only at an altitude of eleven kilometers.
"The Allegris range promises individuality, exclusivity, and premium service along the entire travel chain."
