Actor and comedian Gene Wilder has passed away, aged 83

Willy Wonka actor and noted comedian Gene Wilder has passed away aged 83.

Wilder, who starred in such beloved classics as The Producers, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Stir Crazy and of course, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, passed away on Monday evening at his home in Stamford, Connecticut. According to a report given by his nephew in Variety, it is believed the actor turned writer passed away due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease.
