Global icon Cher has enjoyed longevity in the music industry having spent over six decades racking up hits.
Despite celebrating her 78th birthday earlier this year, the ‘Goddess of Pop’ who was behind such hits as ‘Believe’ and ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’ never seems to age.
Cher has recently shared some of the secrets behind her age-defying good looks.
In her book ‘Forever Fit: The Lifetime Plan for Health, Fitness and Beauty’ Cher spoke candidly about cosmetic surgery.
She said on the subject: “People should do what makes them happy. Frankly, when I saw my face 10 feet tall in close-ups on a movie screen, I wanted my nose done because it really bothered me.”
It’s not just cosmetic surgery that keeps her looking so good, and the singer also credits a healthy lifestyle.
In an interview with Today she said: “All right. I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I don’t do drugs – I never have. I work out. I’m pretty good with my diet, except I like chocolate.”
Cher has said she works out five times a week with a personal trainer who doesn’t let her ‘play the age card’.
She told E! Online that when you get older you have to ‘work out twice as hard’.
Another one of her secrets is to ‘keep up with the trends’ and surrounding herself with young people.
Speaking to GMB she said: “I don’t know if not feeling old makes you younger. I keep up with the trends. I have lots of young friends. I have old friends too. Honestly, I’m not trying to feel young. I’m not trying to be young. I am who I am. I’m just getting along.”
Her boyfriend music executive Alexander Edwards is much younger than her at 38-years-old. However, the pair are very happy together.
Cher has sold more than 100 million records as well as enjoyed success as an actress starring in films such as ‘Burlesque’ and ‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’.
Cher is set to release her first greatest hits album in 20 years in September ahead of her upcoming book ‘Cher: The Memoir, Part One’.
