Women believe that being in a relationship involves harder work for them than men

It goes without saying that any happy relationship shouldn't feel like work, but even the most solid of couples will have a few minor arguments. We know that you're perfect, but we also know that you'll undoubtedly do things that annoy your partner! Hands up if you argue over small things like the dishes, why your partner keeps you constantly late for things, or the most important of all fights, stealing the duvet. While we're certain that all facets of your relationship are 50-50, there are moments when it feels like that particular ratio isn't true. Be honest. Liberties are taken. You're only human! Well, if you agree with that particular statement, a new study by data analysts Mintel has revealed that women are happier being single than men are because being in a relationship is harder work for women. The data showed that  75% of single women have not actively looked for a relationship in the last year, compared to 65% of single men. The main reason cited for this 10% difference is the belief among women that being in a relationship is tough work and that they're required to work harder at maintaining a successful relationship than men. Another interesting facet of this research showed that 61% of single women are happy being single, compared to 49% of single men. Speaking with The Telegraph, Professor Emily Grundy, of the University of Essex, said that “there’s evidence that women spend longer on domestic tasks than men and I think they also do more emotional work - so they still do more housework and cooking and things as well as more emotional labour.” Granted, we're firm believers in the idea that lads and ladies should be doing their equal fair share, but what would your partner think of this research?
