Woman told that she can’t take her ’emotional support peacock’ on a flight

She ruffled a few feathers.

A female traveller was recently banned from taking a large "emotional-support peacock" on board a United Airlines flight.

After offering to buy the bird its own plane ticket, the woman was instructed that the peacock would not be allowed to fly. The flight was set to depart from Newark airport in New Jersey but the airline explained to the passenger that her bird did not meet the flight guidelines due to its weight and size. A United spokeswoman said that this situation had been explained to the passenger on three separate occasions before she even arrived at the airport. The Jet Set, a travel-based talk show, shared the images online and they've since spread their wings and gone viral. While this might seem like a strange situation, it's not uncommon for airlines to allow some passengers with emotional or psychiatric problems to take therapy animals with them on board. This being said, there has been some pushback on this allowance because there are accusations that some people are taking advantage of this privilege. They've got some neck! After being denied a place on the flight, the peacock's owner said that she has made alternative travel arrangements and that "my human friends are going to drive me cross country."
