The worldwide open vote was run by travel website Rough Guides, and this week the results were announced. "Who can deny that these wild beaches, deep lochs and craggy castles are some of the most wonderful and beautiful sights in the world?" Rough Guides said of Scotland.
Anyone who has travelled around the Scottish countryside will know just how breathtaking it is. Of course, there are some equally grim places in Scotland, as with any country, but when it comes to the scenery, it seems that Scotland can't be beat.
