Anyway, he's been explaining why taking all your clothes off, or wearing something very light, will help you sleep better.
"Health-wise, it’s important to let your body cool down during sleep," Stevenson explains.
"Cooling down will lower your blood pressure, which in turn helps your body activate its “rest and digest system” — otherwise known as the parasympathetic nervous system.
"Cooling down also helps the body release certain hormones and reparative enzymes."
Basically, you don’t need to use as much energy sleeping as you do when you're active during the day.
So, if your body can lower its core temperature to save energy, then getting to a lower core temperature can help you get into a deeper sleep.
