An under-the-radar sex kink has been trending on TikTok where millions of women have admitted to being a huge fan, while the majority of men are unaware of it.
While a lot of bedroom behaviours can verge on the problematic, this is one people can truly get behind - mainly because it involves giving compliments to your partner.
The trend that has emerged as being the most favoured among millions of women is the "praise kink".
According to sex expert and TikTok creator, Dr Nicole K McNichols, the "praise kink" has been around forever and has nothing to do with being touched.
Dr McNichols said: "Praise kink exists on a continuum of course, because, I mean, who doesn't love being told they're beautiful or hot or amazing in some way?
"People who have praise kinks get turned on by their partner complimenting them during sex."
She continued: "Praise kink exists on a continuum of course, because, I mean, who doesn't love being told that they're beautiful or hot or amazing in some way?"
This praise kink category continues to grow on TikTok, with hundreds of people giving their take on the niche.
One person wrote in the comments of a video explaining the kink: "I can assure you that most romance book girls would likely have this kink!"
Another added: "I told him. He does it more now. Best day ever!"
One other user wrote: "So I've been seeing that it's been trending on TikTok that... a lot of girls are realising that they have a praise kink.
"Just to let you know, if you have a praise kink, you probably have words of affirmation in your top two love languages."
In a subreddit titled: 'Those of you with praise kink- what do you like to hear?', over 73 Reddit users took to the comments section with an answer.
One person commented: "For my praise 'kink' (though I like it in general, not just in the bedroom), I like being called cute, adorable, gorgeous etc - I like being told I'm a good girl, that I'm well behaved. I like being told I'm precious, that I'm doing so well. 'You sound so cute when you moan, I just want to eat you up' or 'you're such a good girl, aren't you'
"Idk just be creative," the user added. "It doesn't really matter what you say, its a vibe thing."
Another person wrote: "I personally love a 'you look so pretty while you do xyz' or 'take your time baby' because I sometimes get in my head about how long I’m taking to finish.
"I also like hearing 'you deserve this baby', it just makes me so present in my body and the pleasure I’m feeling."
