"Avoid skipping meals and inconsistent eating patterns to prevent drops in blood glucose levels," Erin Palinski Wade, author of Belly Fat Diet For Dummies said.
"The brain's main source of energy is glucose, so you want to maintain steady blood-glucose levels throughout the day to perform at your peak. For this reason, eating every two to four hours should help to provide you with the energy you need to stay focused and alert."
As well as lowering your productivity, your blood sugar dropping means you are vulnerable to cravings. Which means you'll be more likely to crave unhealthy treats rather than substantial meals.
It is also recommended that the lunch you chose isn't just pure refined-carbs and this will only satisfy you for a short time, a balanced meal with slow releasing carbs is your best option for a filling, satisfying lunch which won't damage productivity.
So there you have it. Next time you're looking to impress your boss, don't skip lunch to work hard, invite them out to go eat instead.
