Many hotels leave out 420 when assigning room numbers with a very specific reason why.

April 20th, aka 420, is a celebration of cannabis users who get together at 4:20 pm to smoke pot. Apparently, it turns out 420 can be a nightmare for some hotels because people use it as a place to party. In some cases, guests have taken the number as a keepsake, which isn't exactly desirable for those in charge of the hotel.
