Uttam and his wife, Raki, 53, have returned to their four-bed home near Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire.
He told MailOnline that the show was "fantastic" and in a "beautiful location" but the his family could not afford to keep it, saying they will not retain it as a holiday home.
“We considered moving there and staying there but with all the costs et cetera it was a lot so we decided to sell it.”
He added: “I'm quite a normal guy, there's some celebrity neighbours but I'm not in that showbiz league.
“It would be nice to meet a celebrity in the neighbourhood but we'd be a bit out of our depth.”
The property - an eco-mansion, insulated with recycled newspaper and featuring a ‘green roof’ to help wildlife and reuse water - sits on 5.3 acres of land and has a sun-trap terrace, hot tub and its own courtyard. In 2020, it won an award for best new build in Cornwall.
Uttam, who has been working as an operations manager at Alps Alpine for 18 years, had previously entered every Omaze prize draw without success but bought his winning ticket in July for £25.
He told the Mail he couldn't believe he had won, and said finally doing so proved "patience really is a virtue".
“I’ve always considered myself a lucky person, firstly because of my wonderful family – but I’ve also won a few bits such as a TV and coffee table – which I was pretty happy with to be honest – I never dreamed I’d win anything as extravagant as a three-million-pound-house though!” The father-of-one added that the prize was 'life changing for the whole family'.
As well as making Uttam and Raki multi-millionaires – the draw has also raised crucial funds for Blood Cancer UK, a charity dedicated to funding research into blood cancer, which includes leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
James Oakes, Chief International Officer at Omaze said: “We’re delighted that Uttam has won his dream home – and was able to contribute to this fantastic £1,000,000 raise for Blood Cancer UK in the process.''
