British dad rekindles romance with Ukrainian refugee he left his wife and kids for

The tangled love life of a British father who ditched his partner of eight years for a Ukrainian refugee before dumping her has taken yet another new.

Earlier this year, Tony Garnett, 30, and his family welcomed Ukrainian refugee Sofiia Karkadym, 22, into their home after she fled her wartorn home country following Putin's invasion. Just 10 days after welcoming her in though, his partner - who he had been with for eight years - and two daughters. Previously in their whirlwind romance,Tony has released a bizarre rap song entitled Ukraine to UK Rain, taken in another woman and her boyfriend, and revealed that he had lost his job because of the affair. In September though, Garnett said he had split up with Karkadym following an argument between the couple. Garnett said he was "100 percent through with her", and she then moved back to her home country. The dad-of-two now insists that he has forgiven Sofiia Karkadym, 22, for her outbursts. He told the MailOnline how he travelled all the way to Ukraine to win her back after a ten-week split. He told the publication: "I think we can make this work. She's a really attractive woman and always has interesting stuff to talk about. I want to know her much better and this time we will take things slower." https://www.instagram.com/p/ClBv2TJKOrB/?hl=en The couple apparently kept in touch after Karkadym moved back to Ukraine, and last week Tony decided to go and see her in Ukraine. He flew to Poland and boarded a bus to cross the border before arriving a few hours later at her family home in a village a few hours from Lviv. The couple have now rekindled their romance and have returned to live together in Yorkshire. Garnett said: "To be honest I had missed her and my anger over her drinking had subsided. "She promised me she would never touch alcohol again and since that day I got to Ukraine to see her she hasn't touched any drink. And she hasn't back in Yorkshire either. "I knew that it was very tough for her leaving her family and her country and arriving in Bradford and drink was something she turned to." He added that he and Sofiia had talked things through with her family, who had been "welcoming" and "loving" towards him. He continued: "They have put their trust in me to look after their daughter and that is what I will do. I have given them my promise." Tony said that while the pair were living together before, he had taken in two more Ukrainian refugees, who had since been found somewhere else to live by the council. Then while he was in Ukraine with her recently, he says the pair discussed marriage and the prospect of having children. Tony realised Ukraine was "not a great place to be" as there were regular power cuts and Russian missile attacks. Although thankfully the missiles were intercepted by Ukrainian defence systems in the area they were in. Sofiia told Tony she loved him "very much" and had "really missed him". She added: "I am glad that he came to Ukraine to bring me back and that showed me that he really does care for me. "She said that the issues they had had previously were because of the "tension" and "loneliness" she had felt after leaving her family behind and that it felt good to be back in the UK.
