You can now play classic Snake on Google Maps

April Fool's Day is not always as fun as you hope it might be, as crappy news articles get posted about things that are clearly never going to happen and wouldn't even be that good if they did. However, Google have gone and handed us a gorgeous chance to reminisce over a classic game by implementing Snake on their Maps app. All you have to do is load the app on your phone and open the side menu, where 'Play Snake' gives you the chance to roam around Cairo, Sao Paulo, London, Sydney, San Francisco, Tokyo and a map of the world in pixel art glory. With a transport theme, you go around collecting passengers as famous landmarks pop up for bonus points. The controls couldn't be simpler and are based around you swiping in the direction you want your snake to go. You can also access the Google Maps game on web browser. Snake first appeared as an arcade game before enjoying a huge revival on Nokia mobile phones in the late 1990s, most famously on the iconic brick-like 3310.
