If you've managed to hold out from buying a PlayStation 5 so far, then you'll be happy to hear that now might be the best time to buy one, as Sony has revealed its first price reduction in the standalone console.
This is the first PlayStation 5 console sale price since it launch in late 2020, and the price reduction is for the non-digital version of the console, which means you can purchase hard copies of your games and not rely solely on downloading games to play them.
This version of the PlayStation 5 features 8K graphics, HDR technology, 825 GB SSD storage drive, Built-in WiFi, Ethernet, Bluetooth, and the Blu-Ray drive for your games (and your Blu-Ray films, if you're still staying physical with your favourite movies).
With some big games due to arrive between now and Christmas, including some PS5 exclusives such as Spider-Man 2, now would be the prime time to invest ahead of the big gaming season later in the year.
However, if you've held out for this long then it may be worth waiting for a newer PlayStation console to come out.
A recent court document suggests that it may not be too long before we get a new offering from the gaming giant, with a PlayStation 5 Slim and a handheld version of the console both apparently in the works.
But in terms of the PlayStation 6, it looks set to be at least another four years until gamers are treated to the next generation of consoles.
