McDonald's Monopoly is returning to the UK today alongside one the fast food chains 'best ever' burgers.
It's that time of year again when two world's collide, with the popular boardgame Monopoly teaming up with McDonald's to entice the public into chancing their luck at turning a simple burger into a potential holiday abroad.
The popular game has become an annual event in the UK since 2005 and offers prizes ranging from free meals in McDonald's restaurants all the way up to a £100,000 jackpot.
The top prize of £100,000 cash will be available to win for five lucky customers, and a second top prize of a brand new MINI Electric Car also available for 21 players.
Meanwhile, 90 customers will get the chance to win a £2k Jet2holiday while 100 people will have the chance to win £1,000 of cash.
There are also 2,000 McDonald’s Gold Cards available through the app which gives holders one free meal every week for a whole year.
Other prizes up for grabs include over 6,000 Virgin Experience Day vouchers worth £100, 2 night Best Western Stay for 300 players, and over 300 Merlin Annual Passes for four people.
Meanwhile today (4 Sep) will also see a menu shakeup, with one of the chains 'best ever' burgers, the Philly Cheese Stack returning with other fan favourites and a new drink.
This new menu, however, will mean the departure of the McDonald's birthday items which included the Double Big Mac, Raspberry Ripple Milkybar McFlurry, and the McCrispy BBQ Smokehouse.
From today the Chicken Big Mac and Philly Cheese Stack will be on the menu.
The latter is a fan favourite as made clear by social media users.
One person wrote: "That Philly Cheese Stack is the best limited-edition burger McDonald’s have ever done."
While another commenter said: "That McDonald’s was life changing. Philly Cheese Stack is some real eats, plus the sticky toffee apple pie after."
Other returning items include Mozzarella dippers, a Twix McFlurry and a Galaxy McFlurry.
