Ketchup slices are now a thing for some reason

What an age we live in.

Ever sat there eating a burger or a bag of chips, pouring on some ketchup and thought to yourself, "You know, this ketchup really isn't solid enough for me. I wish it would come wrapped in translucent plastic so that I could transport it in an easier manner"? No, of course you haven't. Nobody has. Nonetheless, ketchup slices are now a very real thing thanks to a company called Bo's Fine Foods. Like all the best and worst things in the world, these little slices came about by accident, when one of the proprietors of Bo's was making a  barbecue sauce which required braising a lot of vegetables. Instead of throwing the veg away, she reportedly mixed, ground, baked and dried what was left until she accidentally made some ketchup slices. https://twitter.com/nowthisnews/status/976817774826725377 Not convinced yet? Wait, there's more! The slices are entirely vegan and is free of high fructose corn syrup, a common ingredient of ketchup which really isn't very good for you. They are also extremely portable, which will come in handy for those of us who are just desperate for a dose of that sweet red sauce but are too embarrassed to carry a big glass bottle around during our work day. While not the first of its kind (an LA restaurant has been using "Ketchup Leather" for a number of years) the company is currently raising money on Kickstarter to bring its product into grocery stores. Will they be successful? Only time will tell. But as my grandmother always said: "Give a man a slice of ketchup and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to slice ketchup and he'll also get sick of it pretty quickly."
