A beloved American fast food chain is set to expand its operations in the UK, with over 400 stores set to open.
Us Brits love a good American chain restaurant landing on our shores.
From Five Guys and Shake Shack to the classic McDonald's and Burger King, everyone has their favourite spot to grab a quick greasy bite.
However, in recent years one chain's move to this side of the pond has caused a stir.
Wendy's has been dubbed even 'better than McDonald's', and it looks like more Brits are going to be in with a chance of trying their tasty delights.
The chain currently houses 30 restaurants in the UK, but have their eyes set on opening up to 400 stores across the country.
Wendy's are looking to expand across the North of England, as well as the Midlands, Southeast, Southwest and London.
"We’re excited to welcome new team members and invite consumers to cheat on their usual and try Wendy’s."
The expansion into the Southwest is thanks to an agreement with franchise organisation Khidmat Limited.
"We believe that everyone in the UK should have access to Wendy’s food, and we’re excited to grow with a brand that has such loyal fans across the globe," Farhat Abbas, their managing director, said.
Six locations in the Southwest are set to open soon, alongside outlets in Newcastle, Rutland, Colchester and East London.
Wendy's has been in the US since it was founded back in 1969.
Many fast food lovers say that the chain beats out McDonald's, with their chicken nuggets in particular being praised by fans.
"I rarely eat fast food, but this is a fact. @Wendys has better nuggets and chicken sandwiches than @McDonalds,"one fan wrote online.
"Don't wanna be that guy but Wendy's is 100x better than McDonald's," another wrote.
While a third penned: "McDonalds is just mediocre, Wendy's better."
"With more than 30 restaurants already open, these plans reflect our ambition to expand to 400 locations nationwide, enabling more people to enjoy our food," Michael Clarke, the UK managing director, said.
Brits are putting mint sauce on their fry ups, curries and even on ice cream
What is wrong with people! There are some food combinations that are meant to be – fish and chips, beans on toast etc – some food combinations that shouldn’t work but do – sweet and salty popcorn, apple with cheese etc – and some food combinations that are just plain wrong.
