Heinz have just created a Terry’s Chocolate Orange mayonnaise for Christmas

Gross? Or perhaps genius!

In a bizarre turn of events, Terry's has partnered with Heinz, yes, the bean people, to launch a chocolate orange-flavoured mayonnaise in time for Christmas. The creation, really only comparable to the potions kids make in the back garden, will launch under the name Chocolate Orange Mayo. The sweet treat, or perhaps condiment, will be marketed as a topping for festive desserts given it's a "smooth and delicious spread that worked perfectly dolloped onto your festive desserts or spread onto brioche, crumpets, pancakes, or croissants this festive season". But here comes the bad news. Before you rush to B&M, because where else would it be sold, this concoction is not available for general sale and will be part of a competition that runs until December 13. "Here at Heinz, we are always innovating, and love creating fun new limited-edition products that we know our fans will love. So, this year we set out to create the most Christmassy mayo that we could think of," said Heinz sauces senior brand manager Maria Jantchi. "And who better to partner with for that than the iconic Terry's Chocolate Orange, everyone's favourite Christmas treat? "And so, after months of development, we are absolutely delighted to be launching the world's first-ever Chocolate Orange Mayo, just in time for Christmas." Terry's Chocolate Orange marketing controller Laure Gentil said: "Since Terry's Chocolate Orange launched in 1932 we have never stopped innovating, growing, and launching new formats and flavours to delight our loyal fans, and we are proud to be continuing this Christmas with our mayo mash-up, which works perfectly as a delicious spread."
