All-you-can-eat cheese festivals are now a thing in the UK

Cheese is a bit like dogs. Cheese is a bit like wine. It's a bit like craft beer and it's a bit like vaping. Cheese is like all of these things in that an astonishing amount of people believe that eating cheese - being a fan of cheese - is a trait of their personalities, or a substitute for one. Their social media bios probably read things like 'full-time cheese addict' and 'certified cheese-tester' or something equally ludicrous. Enough of the hating though. Cheese actually is alright sometimes, providing it's not too smelly. It goes well with prosciutto, grapes, crackers and numerous other things. If you are a person who enjoys a bit (or a lot) of cheese, then you will be ecstatic to hear that a number of all-you-can-eat cheese festivals have launched in the United Kingdom. The festivals have been launched by a cheese club called Homage2Fromage (get it?) and take place once a month in various cities across the UK including Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield and Harrogate, with plans to expand to London soon. The events offer ticket-holders the chance to taste an absolute shit tonne of cheese, listen to experts and even play cheese-related games, such as - we presume - Pin The Tail On The Cheese, I Spy Cheese and Spin The Cheese. "The aim of the club is to celebrate great cheese in an informal fun way - this is not about snobby cheese and wine tastings, it is about sharing one of the greatest foods ever, in a simple, relaxed way," said the company's co-founder Nick “Homage2Fromage helps you discover new cheese, meet like-minded cheese fans and hear some of the amazing stories behind cheese and cheesemaking." You can get an annual membership for Homage2Fromage for £20, which will offer members a number of perks, including discounts on tickets for events.
