Aldi's popular 16oz mega steak is back for Mother's Day. The slab of cow was originally given a limited release for Father's Day but the budget German supermarket is resurrecting the product this weekend. The steak costs just £4.99 and the retailer claims it is 100g bigger and 42 per cent cheaper than its Tesco equivalent. Nicknamed the ‘Mother of All Steaks’, the British rump is matured for 21 days before it hits shelves. Julie Ashfield, Joint Managing Director of Corporate Buying at Aldi, said: “We’ve seen sell-out success of our Big Daddy steaks in the past and now it’s Mum’s turn. "The ‘Mother of All Steaks’ has been created especially for Mother’s Day and is sure to bring smiles to the faces of Mums across the country. “At Aldi we’re committed to offering premium quality products at amazing low prices, allowing customers to make substantial savings on luxury items without any compromise.” The 'Mother of All Steaks' is available to buy in stores now.
