Aldi is hiring a chicken nugget taster to be sent free nuggets to test

Recently, the nation’s love for nuggets has reached new highs as cultural phenomena like the YouTube series ‘Chicken Shop Date’ has amassed over a billion views in the last five years, while ‘#chickennuggets’ has reached over 3.6 billion views globally.

These cemented the humble nugget as a true cultural icon in the UK.

According to Aldi, the applicant who is successful will receive a selection of the supermarket chain’s best-selling nuggets to sample for free.

And this includes the supermarket’s popular Share the Love ‘Love Nuggets’ with Date Ketchup (£2.99, 350g), which return to stores from 10th February as part of the Valentine’s Day range.

The heart-shaped bites, which are priced at just £2.99, have already proven a fan favourite.

Shoppers in the UK previously shared their excitement on Facebook groups, New Foods UK and Snack Reviews.

The successful applicant will also receive the supermarket’s classic Oakhurst Chicken Nuggets with Dips (£1.79, 300g), Roosters Chicken Nuggets in Breadcrumbs (£1.65, 450g) and Tempura Chicken Nuggets (£3.99, 540g).

The only thing that Aldi is asking in return is a set of reviews rating the nuggets on their taste, texture, and the crispiness of their coating.

This will then help guide the supermarket’s Buying Team on future products.

Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, Julie Ashfield, said that “the nation’s love for chicken nuggets is undeniable and we’re seeing a huge appetite for new and exciting flavours”.

“Our shoppers are our most important critics, so launching the role of an official Nugget Taster is the perfect way to ensure our products deliver the quality, taste, and price they deserve.”
