Woman slapped with indecent exposure ticket for wearing crop top and shorts in hot weather

The police said they would not engage in a 'social media war'

A woman in the US was hit with a fine after police deemed her outfit of a crop top and shorts to be indecent exposure despite blistering temperatures. Casey, who goes by @kazzi112 on TikTok, shared the story after attending a "family event" in Winnfield, Louisiana. With temperatures in the southern state currently hovering around the mid-twenties, crop tops and shorts are obvious choices for those not wanting to end the day in a puddle of sweat. However according to "three female cops", Casey was not dressed appropriately.

"You see my outfit," Casey explained, clad in jean shorts and a black crop top. "I got a f***ing ticket for indecent exposure in Winnfield, Louisiana… All of my bits are covered." She continued to say that "alcohol was being handed out for free" at the family-friendly event, yet the cops were more concerned with her ensemble. "Three female cops came up to me and gave me a f***ing ticket," she said. "I live a mile down the road, they literally could have just been like, 'Hey ma'am, can you put some clothes on?,' and I would have been like, 'Yeah, cool. I'll be right back.' "Are you kidding me?" she questioned. The post has racked up 2.9 million viewers, with most just as confused as Casey. I think you look beautiful." In reply to the jealousy comment, Casey added: "The worst part is that I NEVER show this much skin. It took a lot for me to leave the house like this. I was so embarrassed during the citation." In a later video, Casey elaborated more on the story and revealed that she offered to go home and change. Instead, the officers insisted on charging her. According to Louisiana State Law, "sexual misconduct" applies to anyone who "intentionally exposes, in an indecent manner, the genitalia, anus, buttocks, or female areola or nipple" adding that they are "guilty of indecent exposure and shall be punished as a court-martial may direct."

The police have since responded to the ordeal and said: "We, as public servants, will not engage in a social media war with anyone or any organization, as it is improper and brings discredit upon this department. "We also cannot comment on details of any case under investigation or pending court action."
