The 49-year-old reportedly started shooting an advert for Clarks this week - a company which many Brits associate with the chaos of trying to find new school shoes.
An anonymous source described the collaboration as "utterly strange" while speaking to The Sun.
"He’s still desperately trying to seem cool and edgy, but now he’s going to be helping to sell regular work shoes," the source reportedly said, "it doesn’t exactly fit with this idea of him being a rock star."
But little do they know that the iconic Britpop star has actually been working with the brand since the teenies.

Gallagher worked closely with the Clarks Originals design team back in 2010 to create his unique version of the classic Desert Boot. This was then sold by his clothing brand, Pretty Green.
Gallagher has been a "a long-time fan of Clarks Originals," the shoe company said on their website. And you only have to look at the star's own choice of shoe-wear to prove it.

Gallagher has been spotted wearing Clarks shoes both on and off stage on multiple occasions - including at Reading and Leeds Festival last year. Of course, the love for the brand dates back way further.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News in 2016, Paul ‘Bigun’ Ashbee, who first introduced members of Oasis to each other, said: "Oasis wore Clarks shoes as a band because they were cheap and looked cool. If you look back over the years Liam always wore Clarks. I got them from Stewarts of Ardwick. My mum got me a pair. She paid £1 for them every Friday and Liam’s mum Peggy did too."
Whether you're a "Wonderwall" fan or not, there is no denying that, while Clarks may have originally been seen only as a playground staple, they've also become a coveted item for the style conscious, and are stocked at high-end streetwear boutiques such as End.
Fans can even buy themselves a pair of Gallagher's allegedly previously-worn Clarks Ashton Originals on eBay, if they're really getting into it.
Needless to say, it looks like LG won't be losing his style status anytime soon.
