The show has already been renewed for two more seasons.

A new post-apocalyptic series that has earned strong comparisons to The Last of Us is now available to watch via NOW Entertainment and Sky Max.

That show is The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, a spin-off of the hit zombie drama series The Walking Dead which focuses around the character of Daryl Dixon (played by Norman Reedus).

The plot synopsis from Sky for the show reads:

Co-starring Adam Nagaitis (The Terror) and Clémence Poésy (Harry Potter), Daryl Dixon's six-part first season earned for the most part positive reviews from critics - with many calling it the best Walking Dead programme in years.

Its story - which finds Dixon tasked with delivering a young child (played Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) seen as humanity's last hope to safety - has also earned plenty of comparisons to the acclaimed The Last of Us video game and its subsequent beloved TV adaptation.

The Walking Dead spin-off was such a success in fact, that it has already been renewed for a second and third season.

You can read a sample of some of the positive reviews for Daryl Dixon right here:

Digital Spy: "Daryl Dixon begins with a mystery; how did everyone's favourite motorbike enthusiast end up in France? But the bigger question is how did this show end up being so good, especially at a time when The Walking Dead hasn't been firing on all cylinders?"

The Hollywood Reporter: "Brings the franchise back to life."

RogerEbert.com: "If you were put off by the endless seasons of The Walking Dead and desperately want to return to the glory days of Daryl, this might be a good enough excuse to send you shambling back."

TheWrap: "Tightly packed in a polished and engaging six episodes, it seems that [executive producer] Scott Gimple’s universe has finally delivered a follow-up worth a pound of flesh."

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is now available to watch in the UK via NOW Entertainment and Sky Max.
