On that note, for people of a certain age, one show traumatised them more than anything else, V.
Do you remember the cult sci-fi TV show that told the story of aliens arriving on Earth in city-sized motherships? After they integrated themselves into society, they were eventually revealed as reptilian carnivores that were intent on dominating the planet. Truth be told, the moments when they peeled back their skin and revealed their true form was incredibly memorable.
The show was a massive hit in this part of the world and it was followed up with another miniseries called V-The Final Battle. Another short-lived TV show was cancelled in 1985 but it did return with a 2009 TV series reboot.
Well, new audiences are going to be introduced to the terrifying world of V because it's being turned into a film franchise. Desilu Studios have announced plans to remake the story as an ‘epic tale‘ for theaters in a brand new trilogy of films.
The studio has teamed up with the creator of the original show, Kenneth Johnson, to create a big budget movie together and reboot the brand.
Speaking about the upcoming films, Johnson said: “We are delighted to team up with Desilu to bring the timeless – and timely – story of resistance against tyranny into the 21st century… V will be the first of a cinematic trilogy which will tell the full epic tale in the manner I always envisioned."
