It's on the technical side, though, where FIFA 17 is making arguably its biggest leap forward. The game will be jumping from the Ignite engine to Frostbite, the same one used in the upcoming Battlefield 1.
Although a lot of the animations will look similar to last year's iteration, from a graphical point of view the differences are immediately noticeable.
Frostbite 3 allows for much more advanced lighting in FIFA 17, which in turn benefits the way stadiums and players look. It's difficult to do the subtle nuances justification with words alone, so have a watch of this handy comparison video from Eurogamer's Digital Foundry.
