There’s a very cool reference to Tim Curry in the new IT trailer

His performance terrified the crap out of an entire generation.

Aside from memorable performances in the likes of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Hunt for Red October , The Three Musketeers, Loaded Weapon 1 (a seriously underrated film) and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Tim Curry will forever be remembered for his terrifying performance as Pennywise the clown in the TV adaptation of Stephen King's It. Not only did he embody pure evil, but there was something sinister and charming about Curry's turn that inspired a generation to have coulrophobia - that's a fear of clowns for normal people. When he wasn't terrrorising the Losers Club, Curry ensured that an an entire generation were absolutely petrified and with the new IT trailer being released, eagle-eyed fans spotted a lovely Easter egg. At the end of the footage, you can see Pennywise about to attack in a room that's brimming with clown dolls. Well, if that wasn't terrifying enough, you can see a clown that looks exactly like the Tim Curry iteration of Pennywise.
