In the history of Peaky Blinders, we know that the alliance between Alfie Solomons and Tommy Shelby is about as steady as the business prospects of any new bookies that decide to open in Small Heath!
Over the course of the show, we've seen Alfie renege on his deal with Tommy by temporarily working with Darby Sabini and Father Hughes (The Economic League) but a large part of Alfie's appeal is his unpredictability.
In fact, trying to read Camden's most famous gangster is like trying to catch smoke with your hands. That's what makes his character so interesting. He's unpredictable, unreliable, hilarious and absolutely ruthless.
Truth be told, Alfie has always been clear about one thing - the fact that his alliance with the Peaky Blinders is simply business.
Remember what he said to Tommy after he pulled a gun on him in the warehouse? "If you pull that trigger, right, you pull that trigger for a fucking honourable reason. Like an honourable man, not like some fucking civilian that does not understand the wicked way of our world, mate," he said.
Well, with Luca Changretta closing in on Tommy, it's clear that 'The Wandering Jew' is starting to see an opportunity to potentially gain an even stronger ally.
Will Alfie betray Tommy's trust, or is this just another one of his brilliant schemes?
All things considered, the prospect of seeing Tom Hardy and Adrien Brody share a scene together is enough to get any fans of Steven Knight's gangster epic excited.
Two of the most dangerous men in Peaky Blinders. In the same room. At the same time
If it's half as good as the moment when Luca met Tommy, we're in for a real treat.
