The Art of the Steal, a star-studded crime comedy heist movie, has just been added to Netflix.
The film follows Crunch Calhoun (Kurt Russell), a motorcycle daredevil and art thief, who agrees to help his half-brother (Matt Dillon) with one last heist.
As Crunch gathers his old team and plans to steal a priceless book, he has no idea his brother has his own hidden agenda.
Also featuring amongst its cast Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley), Devon Bostick (Oppenheimer), Jay Baruchel (Blackberry), Katheryn Winnick (Vikings) and Terence Stamp (The Limey), The Art of the Steal drew comparisons to the work of Guy Richie upon release.
This is thanks to it putting a comedic spin on the crime/heist flick formula.
You can read a sample of some of the positive reviews for The Art of the Steal right here:
The Guardian: "An entertaining lark."
New York Post: "[Writer-director Jonathan] Sobol encourages his excellent cast, which includes the iconic Terence Stamp as a federal informant and Jay Baruchel as the gang's weakest link, to steal scenes left and right.
RogerEbert.com: "There are a handful of actors working today whose mere presence justifies whatever film they are in. Kurt Russell is at the top of a very short list for me, and has been so for decades."
Scotsman: "The strenuous presentation might remind you of Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, but the boisterous script has some legitimately amusing moments along the way."
Village Voice: "The Art of the Steal doesn't advance the nerdy intertextuality that has distinguished ironic crime films since Guy Ritchie, but writer-director Jonathan Sobol knows the ropes."
The Art of the Steal is streaming on Netflix in Ireland and the UK right now. US readers can watch it on Starz.
