Stephen Merchant has one of those faces that's just cut out for comedy.

We all know him as the goofy, jocular, bespectacled bloke who always knocks around with Ricky Gervais. He was the genius behind The Office and then starred alongside Gervais in Extras, as well as sending Mancunian misanthrope Karl Pikington around the world on a series of daft adventures in the hilarious An Idiot Abroad. Merchant is a funny guy, so he's probably the last person alive you'd imagine could be cast as a comic book villain. But that's exactly the role he's going to be playing in the new movie Logan, the sequel to Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman.
