Simpsons writer reveals Lionel Hutz scene that was cut from one of the show’s best episodes

Additional Lionel Hutz would never have been a bad thing.

The character of Lionel Hutz, arguably the greatest secondary character in the history of The Simpsons, was retired following the tragic death of the man who voiced him, Phil Hartman, in 1998. The hapless and morally questionable lawyer, also known as Miguel Sanchez and Dr. Nguyen Van Phuoc, delivered numerous memorable moments in The Simpsons and he could have been a part of one of the show’s most memorable episodes had scenes featuring him not been left on the cutting room floor. Josh Weinstein, a writer with The Simpsons, has made a habit of posting deleted scenes from the show on his Twitter account and at the weekend, he revealed a storyline surrounding Hutz that was originally supposed to feature in the episode, 22 Short Films About Springfield.
