S Club 7's reunion tour will reportedly go ahead to honour bandmate Paul Cattermole who died Thursday.
Cattermole, 46, passed away suddenly at his Dorset home, with the band announcing his passing Friday with "deep sadness and loss".
According to reports on Saturday, sources close to the band have indicated the tour - due to begin in Liverpool on 13 October - will go ahead, however, the band is said to still be considering how it will proceed. The band had 11 scheduled dates.
The upcoming reunion tour would have seen Cattermole perform alongside ex-girlfriend Hannah Spearritt, Rachel Stevens, Tina Barrett, Jo O'Meara, Bradley McIntosh and Jon Lee.
Reports suggested Cattermole was excited about the 25th-anniversary reunion tour and was the first member of the seven-piece band to sign on.
A source told MailOnline: "Paul was so excited, though he seemed awkward on the outside he was looking forward to reliving some of the old, happy times with the group.
"That's why there are some members of S Club 7 who are determined the tour goes on. To them, it seems the perfect way to pay tribute to him."
The insider added how "there have been some meetings" and some S Club 7 members are inconsolable over Cattermole's sudden passing.
S Club 7 paid tribute to their bandmate on Friday and said there "are no words" to describe their loss.
The statement from the band read: "We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.
"He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time."
A statement from Cattermole's family shared Friday read: "It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole. "Paul was found yesterday, 6th April 2023 at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon.
"While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police has confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances. Paul’s family, friends and fellow members of S Club request privacy at this time."
In a statement issued in February announcing their tour plans, S Club 7 said: "After eight years it feels amazing to announce that we're reuniting and performing together again. We're so excited to bring the S Club Party back to our fans across the country to celebrate 25 years of S Club 7.
"We can't even believe it's been so long! Music and friendship have always been at the core of everything that we've ever done. We hope everyone can join us for one big party!"
Cattermole was one of the original members of the band, famous for hits like ‘S Club Party’, when it formed in 1998.
He was talent spotted by producers from 19 Management and invited to audition.
He left the band in 2002 and formed, Skua, but they broke up a year later.
In 2014, S Club 7 performed together at Children in Need and the following year reunited for the Bring It All Back Tour.
Over the five years the band was together, S Club 7 had four UK No.1 singles, one UK No.1 album, and hits throughout Europe, including a top-ten single in the US, Asia, Latin America and Africa.
They recorded four studio albums, released eleven singles and went on to sell over 14 million albums worldwide.
